I'm not going to send the batteries back. If the replacement batteries do the same I guess I'll have to pick another mfg. I ws thinking that maybe my bike is still not loose enough and put a big load on the battery. Wished I could have spoken to an engineer. Both! The support tech has no idea what is going on. So I'm a little concerned.Īntigravity is going to warranty them. Today's call into Antigravity technical support has yet to be returned. Put the other one I'll call #2 on the charger. Put it on the charger even if the voltage appeared to be 14.5 or so on the dash. Turn the key, dash lights up, sounds as normal, hit the starter button and all goes dark on the dash, click, no start. I just bought and received last week two new Antigravity batteries ATZ-10 for 890 ADV Rs. My 350 has a factory lithium and it does like a pre-start method to allow the electrons to wake up even here in California. I have Antigravity batteries on my 690 and BMW R1200RT. That's exactly what I want out of a battery, to be ready to be used when I get the urge without any downtime storage care on my part. I rode it back into the garage and parked it in the corner where it will sit unattended until the next time I get the urge to use it.
It spun the starter motor right up at the push of the starter button without any "pre-start" procedure and I proceeded to go play in the snow on the bike and have a great time. It had not been run or on a charger for about 4 months and was about 30 degrees in the garage. It has an ity bity AntiGravity battery in it. Yesterday I went out to the garage and fired up my 250XCF for a snow ride. The built in BMS systems now used by many seem to eliminate the need to baby them.
I am absolutely shyt when it comes to using maintainers which is likely why when I used the earlier lithium batteries after they first arrived on the scene it left me with less than a positive attitude about them. it depends on what we value and what we can afford.Ĭlick to expand.Yep, I have a jump pack as well, but now with restart I don't bother carrying it. personally, i do both: lithium battery and ti exhaust. for me lithium batteries are much cheaper way to save weight versus a titanium exhaust. is a premium after market suspension worth $4-10k? for many, no. perhaps because bikes are always on battery maintainers they start without issue? dunno.Īre lithium worth 2-4x more than lead acid batteries? makes anything more valuable that something else? how does one rider value the weight savings versus another rider? are titanium bolts worth a shit ton more than steel bolts? to many people, yes. i ride even below 20F and bike always starts, may be a smidge longer to turnover -similar to agm batteries. yesterday, i started the bike at 37F without event. i know people mention starting issues and i've gotta say, i've never had issues with any of the bikes starting and i ride all winter. i do keep the batteries on a battery maintainers. i think the oldest one is about five years old -maybe older. I have antigravity lithium batteries in three bikes -about to be four bikes.
